The United Church of Christ (Congregational) parish was establised in 1827 and the sanctuary built in 1837.
Originally located on the opposite bank of the Boquet River, the church building was moved across the river ice to its current location at the center of the village in 1867.

The Parish Hall, originally a dance hall and stable, was removed from the hotel property adjacent to the church to its current location behind the sanctuary in 1901.The complete restoration of the exteriror of the hall has been completed in 2007 with church and state historic preservation funding.

The Church is currently raising additional funds to complete the ongoing restoration of the interior of the hall.
