Zodiac recessed valve installation
In our shop we use a modified tool; a socket wrench
with slots ground into it to turn and remove and replace
the valve insert.
Alternative would be long nose pliers. Be
careful not to break the little bar inside.

To insert the new part Z60055:
Tuck the diaphragm corners into the housing. Place in base and screw down firmly.
Then use a thin probe, small screwdriver, stick, to push down
the tabs
and release the diaphragm.
Never use any lubricant on these valves.

Recessed Valve Cap Types

They are not
interchangeable. Collars are the same.
Although a new collar is supplied, you should not change it unless broken or leaking;
just cut the old string and tie it to the new one.
If you loosen the collar it may leak air. If you remove it
be sure not to drop the base into the tube or you are in real trouble!
