In our shop we use a modified tool; a socket wrench
Alternative would be long nose pliers. Be
careful not to break the + shaped bar.

Tuck the diaphragm corners into the housing. Insert and screw down firmly.
Then use a thin probe, screwdriver, stick to push down
the tabs
Never use any lubricant on these valves.

Note two types of cap. Early
one has prongs. New one screws in
They are not
interchangeable. Collars are the same.
Although a new collar is supplied, you should not change
it unless broken or leaking;
just cut the old string and tie it to the new one.If you loosen the collar it may leak air.
If you remove
it be sure not to drop the base into the tube or you are in
real trouble!
