Proper identification of your boat and engine model is essential for us to help you find parts.
For some marine products the "serial" number or Hull/Vessel ID Number is very important.
For Mercury/Mercruiser and Volvo and Yanmar engines that number is the only sure way

With Zodiac, Bombard and Avon the hull number is only useful to determine the year.
We need the exact model name and year; or preferably the Model Number.

    From 2001 up, Zxxxxx. Pre-2001, only 4 digits
   Very important for ordering correct parts.
    This identifies the model;
     it is not what is usually referred to as "serial number",

C - Person capacity. Adults + children
D - Weight maximum capacity; motor+ gear+people
E - Maximum weight of motor
F - Max. Horsepower allowed

Hull Identification (HIN) number
or "Serial" Number
coding used since August 1994.

Co - Country of manufacture FR- = France
Note: West Marine boats by Zodiac will have FR- code.

MIC - Manufacturer Ident Code. "XDC" for Zodiac,
Bombard, Metzler
AVB = Avon; WMP = West Marine; Lookup others

B - Month - Year of manufacture; A=Jan; B=Feb;
J4 = Oct 2004. Before August 1994 A=August; B=Sept.

M - Model Year 05 = 2005
